On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a bid invitation – solicitation number 2000008967 – inviting offers to sell shrimp products to the agency. The USDA’s solicitation seeks bids to supply up to 207,000 cases of domestic, frozen peeled and deveined shrimp of varying sizes. Offers to supply the products solicited are due to the USDA no later than December 23, 2022, with acceptances of successful bids to be announced by midnight, December 30, 2022.
Depending on the location, deliveries of the shrimp products to food assistance programs is targeted for February or March.
This is the third bid invitation for shrimp issued by the USDA, with the first – solicitation number 2000007319 – issued on September 11, 2020 seeking 318,600 cases and the second – solicitation number 2000008073 – issued on September 9, 2021 seeking 229,800 cases.
